The Tomb of the Sea Witch–Pre-Order Today!

Well, it took a little longer than I had intended, but Amazon pre-orders for The Tomb of the Sea Witch are now live! To celebrate, I’ve given the website a new color scheme inspired by the book’s cover. Behold, le blueness.

Also, here’s a new book trailer. I wasn’t entirely happy with the last one, so I’ve created something a little cooler. Enjoy! (Also, side-note–the music for this trailer is an original composition, the lyrics of which are in the book. The song is actually quite crucial to the plot.)

Private detective Nick Beasley used to be a debunker of magic–and a human being. Then he found out magic is real. The hard way. Now he’s on the run from a powerful council of enchanters who want him dead, along with his little brother Crispin and the renegade enchantress Lady Cordelia Beaumont.

So when Cordelia suggests going undercover at a stronghold of the Council’s power–the Warrengate Academy of Advanced Magic–Nick isn’t exactly thrilled with the idea. Cordelia insists that the school may hold the key to Nick regaining his humanity: an ancient spell created by the Sea Witch from the tale of the Little Mermaid.

But the mission proves to be more complicated than Beaumont and Beasley had expected. An ancient threat is rising from the deep, bringing an army of the dead along with it. Shocking revelations send Nick, Cordelia, and Crispin on a harrowing journey under the sea.

The Sea Witch is not quite as dead as everyone believes…and her secrets will change everything.

Some other things:

  • If you’re going to the Realm Makers writers’ conference in Reno next week, look me up! I’ll be there, along with some spiffy paperback copies of both The Beast of Talesend and The Tomb of the Sea Witch. You can be one of the first people to get your hands on Book 2!
How very appropriate…
  • Don’t forget that The Beast of Talesend ebook is on sale for just $0.99 until the end of this month to celebrate the release of Tomb! Here’s a tweet you can share to spread the word:

  • You’ll notice that the paperback version of Tomb isn’t available for pre-order yet. It will go live soon. I’m using CreateSpace for this release, and I’m still waiting to hear back from them on the paperback proofs.
  • I’m also waiting to hear from Audible about The Beast of Talesend audiobook. Apparently it takes a while for them to get an audio ready for sale, but I still expect it to be finished by the end of the month.
  • Another thing you might notice is that I’ve removed the page for Beaumont and Beasley Book 3, The Stroke of Eleven, from the site. This isn’t because I’ve canceled that release; I’m still definitely going to write it. But for spoilery reasons, I will probably have at least one book in between Tomb and that one. Rather than keep postponing the release of The Stroke of Eleven indefinitely, I’ve shelved it for the moment. When the time is right and that story is next on my schedule, then I’ll do an official announcement with all the trimmings.
  • As such, there is now a mysterious new Book 3 of Beaumont and Beasley on the horizon. Want to find out more? Read The Tomb of the Sea Witch. The cover will be revealed in the ebook version, along with a teaser for a different project set in the Beaumont and Beasley universe…

And that’s all for now! Looking forward to sharing The Tomb of the Sea Witch with you!

YAYYYYY! *confetti everywhere (blue confetti!)!*

I like the blue! 🙂
Also spooooky trailer. o.o Meep. Did those waves turn red at the end, because… I’m a little scared now. XD (Am I missing a word from my vocabulary, or was it not supposed to say “Undine” at the end?)
(OH THE MERMAID. :O O____O WOW. EPIC.) Have a fantastic time at Realm Makers! I hope you sell out of books! 😀 And get to meet Claire, because I’ve met her, and if she meets you and sees me again I’ll like. . . have almost met you?

Stroke of Eleven put off again? Hmm. What IS that book going to have going on??? o.o And what will the new book three be about?? 😀 Also, do you have any idea how many books are planned? 🙂
“different project set in the Beaumont and Beasley universe…” You have made me curious…
*goes to announce to my goodreads friends that BoTE is on sale…*

Thanks so much! 😀 I’m going to do a couple of different trailers; the next one will have more of a fun tone. “Undine,” by the way, is a sort of catch-all term for water spirits in mythology, of which mermaids are just one type. I’m using it as the term for the merfolk civilization in the Afterlands (which includes a variety of sub-species). Really looking forward to meeting Claire!

The Stroke of Eleven will follow up on some major twists at the end of Tomb, but I feel like there needs to be one more story to build up to that point. I’m fairly certain TSOE will end up being Book 4. Book 3…ooh, I’m so tempted to just spill the beans, but I really shouldn’t yet. XD I think fans of BoTE will be excited about it. It delves further into something that was only briefly touched on in Book 1. I’m planning to do an official announcement and cover reveal on the blog once I return from Realm Makers.

Honestly, I love these characters so much that I don’t have a set number of books in mind just yet. There are so many things I can do with this setting that I’d like to keep the series going as long as possible. The Mysterious Additional Project will hopefully lead to two further books, though they won’t actually feature the cast of Beaumont and Beasley.

Oh cool! I never thought of anyone doing more than one book trailer… But you know, movies have more than one, so why not? ;D
Okay cool, now I know a new word! 🙂
SOOO EXCITED. And curious. o.o
We’ll I’d happily read tons of books about Nick and Cordelia… and Crispin. 😀
Mysterious Additional Project sounds fun–the world is really neat and I’d love to see more and more of it. It’s kind of like a magical British fairytale Hardy Boys place… And I love that so… 😀

Annnd I just blew my cover my not signing Deb out…:P She’s my big sis and she’s going to kill me. >.>

LOL, that’s awesome! I feel like I should be saying “Nice to meet you” again. XD

Yeah, I love playing around with trailer stuff, so I figured one or two more wouldn’t hurt. 😀 The first one was mainly to spark interest in general, but I’d to do one that expresses the fun tone that Beaumont and Beasley is known for as well. 🙂

*runs to pre-order*

*remembers am receiving an ARC*

*runs back to mailbox to wait*

I’m so sorry about how long it’s taking…*pounds head against wall* I actually just emailed you b/c I lost your address somehow.

*have been there, including the head pounding*

SO EXCITED AAAHH!

Also, your site is blue now AND IT’S GORGEOUS! I LOVE! You should keep it that way. XD

Also, also, I’m now INSANELY curious to read Stroke of Eleven. O_O And to find out about the new book 3 and other books…

Super excited for “Tomb”! 😀

Thank you!! I think you’ll be even more excited when I announce Book 3. The cover looks so cool, I just want to throw it out there right now…but I have to pace myself. 😂 Soon, though. And I probably will stick with the blueness for the site for a while. I think I’ll keep changing it from time to time to match the color scheme of each book cover.
