So, I’m sure you’re wondering why I’ve called you all here today–AHEM. That’s not what I was going to say. My fingers slipped. Hang on.
I’m sure you’re wondering what the heck happened to that Amazon release of Horseman that I’ve been promising for… *checks calendar* seventy years or so? It’s been a long time, I know that.
Well, the good news is, it’s happening!
The bad news is, it didn’t happen yesterday, like I promised on Twitter a while back that it would. This week was a lot busier than I thought–I put in more work on The Strange Cases of Beaumont and Beasley and participated in Indie E-Con. I could have hurried through publishing Horseman on Amazon yesterday, but I know from experience that rushing through book formatting and uploading is NEVER a good idea.
But now that things have calmed down a little, I have time to get the release right. The final edits on the book are done; I just need to do a couple more things and it will be ready at last. So I’ve rescheduled the release date for this Friday, May 25.
If you’ve been following me for a while, you know I don’t usually do big book launches. All the same, shares and retweets of this release will be very much appreciated. And there are a couple of other things you can do to help, as well.
First, you can participate in this giveaway! (That’s not such a big ask, is it?) 😀 Just click on the magic Rafflecopter thingamajig below and follow the instructions to enter. Three lucky winners will get paperback copies of Horseman!
And second, if you’ve already read Horseman on Wattpad, you can post your review prior to the release on the book’s shiny new Goodreads page. This will help a lot in building some buzz around the book’s publication. Note that while typos, continuity blips, and other errors have been fixed in the final draft (thanks to the brilliant editing skills of Deborah O’Carroll), this is the same story you read on Wattpad. I haven’t changed any plot points whatsoever. There are a few, very minor new touches to the final version, but I don’t think they’ll have any influence on your review. And, if you feel that you’d rather read the final version before posting a review, that’s fine as well. I will be uploading all the edited chapters to Wattpad this week (which means you’re going to get spammed with notifications from me–I apologize in advance for that).
One other thing I want to mention–this final, polished version of Horseman will remain on Wattpad forever. I’m not going to pull Crockett and Crane books from that platform when I publish them on Amazon, or leave them in their un-edited state. So if you prefer to read the book for free, you can always do that! Don’t feel that you have to buy the Amazon version if you’d rather not. Crockett and Crane is intended first and foremost for my Wattpad audience. The Amazon releases are for the people who prefer not to read the books on Wattpad, or who want a physical version.
Thanks, as always, for your patience! I’m grateful for all the awesome feedback I’ve received about Horseman so far, and I’m excited about putting it in the hands of new readers.
