Setting: An alternate Regency England (1816).
Premise: Dragon archaeologist Malcolm Blackfire and notorious jewel thief Melody Nightingale join forces to seek out artifacts of great magical power. Their quests lead them to the far corners of the Afterlands and uncover ancient secrets of dragon lore. Malcolm and Melody are most definitely not heroes. Any worlds saved, dark magic thwarted, or dangerous artifacts kept out of the wrong hands are entirely coincidental.
Great for fans of: A Darker Shade of Magic, Jeeves and Wooster, Discworld, Mistborn
The Blackfire series will officially begin in Autumn 2018 with Book 1, The Thirteenth Knight. For now, you can meet Malcolm and Melody in the Beaumont and Beasley series. They first show up in Book 3, The Stroke of Eleven. The Janus Elixir, the first novella collected in The Strange Cases of Beaumont and Beasley, focuses entirely on these characters (and requires no previous knowledge of Afterverse continuity for you to enjoy it).
